Mobile Phones, Motorola sues RIM now.

This seems to be getting ridiculous.

First it was Nokia/Apple sueing each other over ownership and infringements, now it seems that Motorola are sueing Blackberry maker RIM over WiFi related technology.. Read the full story on BBC News

Now I understand that companies need to protect their tech and revenues, but the was things are going it looks like noone will be able to do anything soon, Microsoft have had Word recalled over XML issues, Apple and Nokia are sending claims back and forth, no doubt there are a lot more that I do not know about.

Surely the way forward is to open up the market and allow for expansion. Not lock down the ideas of one company and call four if someone else comes up with a similar idea; but maybe that is just the idealist in me.
